    Mike:
I just got your note about Joy today… I am sorry for you loss and offer my pathetic little message of grief and sharing. Thank you for your kindness, your voice, your efforts to allow me to improve my skills on an instrument that I love.
I have not subscribed yet… I recently retired and have struggles concerning money. But one day, I promise, I will. I will continue to absorb your lessons until I HAVE to subscribe in order to advance. Your student, Ralph Marshall

    thank you!

  11. Bill Sincler says

Hi Mike….I hope at some point you will touch base on Texas Swing Music or Western Swing ala Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys who have influenced so many musicians including Willle Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel and George Strait. Songs like San Antonio Rose, Milk Cow Blues and Faded Love. In order to play the rhythm of the songs you have to be familiar with Eldon Shamblin and his Swing chords which moved up and down the neck…cheers…Bill Sincler, Cypress Texas….

  12. Alan Seguin says

Can’t wait for those additional Spanish pieces. Keep up the good work, I love your teaching format.

  17. C. Michael Lynn says

    Mike,
Nice turn of a pharse “Take the Bull by the horns” regarding the spanish numbers. I will be purchasing both the spanish and more than likely the country music sets. I am glad that you are there. What an inspiration you are to all of us. I have even started taking lessons these past two years, and my instructor believe it or not looks like the American version of you. His first name is even Mike (last name though is Love). He looks like you and is about your age and very patient and talented. However, I still plan to remain loyal to you and the wonderful lessons you offer. Stay strong and maintain the love you have for the guitar.
    Mike Lynn (cmikelynn@gmail.com)

  30. Paul Leavett says

    Hi Mike,
I too was saddened to hear about your loss, especially as the e-mails got mixed up and it was posted out to us that Joy was recovering well after treatment (but this was put out a week after her sad death.) That fact alone must have must have really upset you.
I hope you had a good time down under and you got your head around it all a little.
Just bought the Beatles download, love it but (na na na nah na) my own version of Norwegian wood (in D) sound even better than yours, I use the little pinky more for picking out the notes. All the rest are brilliant though (that was the only one I could really play properly before I bought the download.. Thanks..
Also I love the James Taylor collection I bought .. Thanks for that too..
Looking forward to the Country collection…
    Paul L.

    I’m afraid not.

    Regards,

  33. Raymond Pashoukos says

Love “Deep River Blues” and the audio blog in general. I’m always going my own way in my guitar but I did learn Classical Gas from your youtube videos early this year, and thanks for that. Still try to play it everyday.. theres a difference between playing a song and “feeling” a song… ought to be faily good by next year :) Sorry for your loss Mike.

    Ray

  34. Marcus says

Keep up the good work Mike. Thanks for the e-mail informing me of this announcement, which I only just got time to check out today. Keep your chin up, buddy.

  35. Mildred says

    Hi Guys!
Can’t wait for the country music lessons! However, Mike, I must say that listening to your latest audio…when you said the word-country-…I heard in your voice something I hear in my teenage son’s when I try to get him to play country-disdain! I don’t think country is going to be your favorite genre to produce lessons for. LOL!
Keep a song in your heart, Mike, and get just as “soppy” as you want: you have more friends than you know who ‘have you’re back’ as they say, I’ll close with what my Mom always told me about very difficult situations: This To Shall Pass.
Love to you and to Jerry
    Mildred Waggoner

  36. BOBBY PADGETT says

hi mike! thanks for all the lessons, you do help me some. have you ever put out a complete less on the chet atkins finger style, or at least thought about it? i want onethat is very technical and easy to follow, especially the right hand pointer , middle and ring fingers. i guess ther arn’t many people arounf today that are interested in that style except oldies like me. good health to you mike and good luck with your internet business and may god bless you. bob p.

Hi Mike, I was listening to my local public radio yesterday and they played Deep River Blues. I never heard it before, my hairs were standing up Mike! Today I opened up your audio blog and here it is. Thank you so much. I am sorry for your loss, and I appreciate everything you do for us. I look forward to seeing your videos again.

  40. Glen Hall says

Hi Mike, really like “Bring in the Clowns”. Is it possible to purchase it separately from the set? Looking forward to more Spanish tunes.

    Warm regards,
    Glen

  41. Wesley Nagel says

Hi Mike. If you ever get the time to tab Patience by Guns & Roses that would be great.
There are lots of video lessons but they are very vague when it comes to the picking in the verse. It is such a good guitar song that deserves a good tab/video lesson from “someone”(Wink,Wink) Keep up the good work it is well appreciated.

  42. Kim says

Mike, I am so sorry to hear about Joy, ” Keep on keeping on” that is the best thing to do.
    Kim
